Custom Stair Runner – Spiral & Straight Steps with Landings
This project was not for the faint of heart. The combination of spiral stairs, multiple sets of straight stairs with landings, a large pattern match, and the hallways (which we will discuss next), all made this a tricky runner installation.
It is always advisable to work with a flooring expert when you are dealing with expensive carpet and large pattern matches. A “pattern match” can be anywhere from a fraction of an inch wide by a fraction of an inch long, to several feet wide by several feet long. Depending on the width of your stairs or hallway, you may waste a lot of carpet in order to keep the pattern matched.
Our team of craftsmen skillfully cut and match each piece with as little waste as possible. Then they bind the edges with a color coordinated binding. The stair runners and landings were then tightly installed over premium padding.

Custom Hallway Runners
This custom hallway runner is one of a kind. The Stanton carpet that was chosen by our homeowner has an interesting pattern that somewhat resembles Zebra stripes.
The large pattern needed to be matched at many turns. The large number of ninety degree inside and outside corners made pattern matching and binding a job reserved only for the best in the business, our journeymen installers.
After the runner was all cut and matched, it was bound with a color coordinated binding. The runner was installed so that it ran down the hallway and cascaded down the spiral staircase and down the other set of steps and landings.
